ITIA donation to Haiti
Following the National Executive Council Meeting in January, the ITIA have donated €1000 to Concern for their Haiti fund.
The money which had been allocated for Jack Farrell as a retirement gift, was given to the charity as fitting tribute to all the hard work Jack had done for the association.
ITIA AGM and annual dinner
The ITIA AGM and annual dinner will take place in the Burlington hotel on Thursday 25 th February. The AGM will be at 4pm and the reception will commence at 7.30pm. We would encourage everyone to come along and have your say about the issues affecting you in today's tyre industry. We need to confirm numbers attending as soon as possible. 03/12/09 It is with great sadness that we bring you the news that Jack Farrell, former CEO of the ITIA passed away last night. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam . The council meeting and dinner on 10 th December has been cancelled.
ITIA conducts members’ survey
Over 200 members were questioned in telephone interviews on their opinions of the activities and future of the ITIA. The results were presented and discussed at recent executive meetings of the Association. “This survey will guide the Irish Tyre Industry Association in their future activities,” said Dave Naughton, President, ITIA . The FÁS scheme which was run in Ballyfermot was a terrific success, 12 took part in the course of which 3 were given full time employment. The course was held over 20 weeks, 8 were held in house and then a further 12 at a sponsors premises where they received practical experience. Read More
‘S’ mark being introduced in October
This directive referred to as “S-marking”, comes into effect on 1st of October for tyres of classes C1, C2 and C3 with the exception of Classes C1d and C1e. All tyres sold, in the above classes, after October 1st 2009 must be S-marked or be certified and validated by a type-approval authority. Read More |
